The short version

Salvage Earth is a single-player game. Play it, enjoy it, don't try to break it or resell it. It is provided as-is, and during beta it is unfinished by definition.

1. Acceptance

By downloading or playing Salvage Earth ("the game"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

2. Who may use it

You must be old enough to accept these terms where you live, or have permission from a parent or guardian. Apple's own terms apply to any download from the App Store or TestFlight.

3. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.

You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the game; reverse-engineer or decompile it except where law expressly permits; remove or alter any notices; or use it to build a competing product.

4. Beta versions

While Salvage Earth is in beta, it is provided for testing. It may contain defects, it may lose your progress, its balance and content will change, and features may be added or removed without notice. Do not rely on a beta build for anything that matters to you. Beta access may be ended at any time.

5. Price, ads and purchases

At the time of writing, Salvage Earth contains no advertising and no in-app purchases. If that ever changes, it will be stated clearly on the store listing and in this page before such a version ships. Any purchase you do make would be handled by Apple, and refunds would be Apple's to grant under its own policy.

6. No accounts

The game has no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress is stored on your device. If you delete the app, lose your device, or reset it, that progress is gone and we have no copy to restore.

7. Intellectual property

The game and everything in it — code, artwork, music, sound, characters, names, and the Salvage Earth, Custodian, and Continuity Network identities — belong to TechArtists and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your licence to play does not transfer ownership of any of it.

You are welcome to record, stream, and publish video of your own play, including monetised video, provided you do not present the game as your own work.

8. Updates

We may update, change, or discontinue the game or any part of it at any time. We are not obliged to maintain any particular feature, and content described on this site may change before release.

9. Disclaimer

The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TechArtists is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the game. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the game or ten US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.

11. Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by deleting the game.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer rights that your local law grants you and does not allow to be waived.

13. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
